This photomicrograph depicts fungal spores and adiaspores of what may be an Emmonsia sp. or Chrysosporium sp..



Two of these species, Emmonsia parva and Emmonsia crescens, are etiologic agents of the pulmonary disease, adiaspiromycosis also called haplomycosis, a pulmonary fungal infestation that may be subclinical or produce pneumonia.
