This man was "made up" so as to show symptoms of cutaneous anthrax due to B. anthracis.



This slide was created to help a person suspect an illness, not diagnose the illness, in this case anthrax was the etiologic pathogen. Anthrax infection can occur in three forms: cutaneous (skin), inhalation, and gastrointestinal.
