This is an image of Estes Park, Colorado, the site of a 1975 “sylvatic plague”, and “Colorado tick fever study”.

These studies were conducted to help determine, which areas have hosts and vectors infected with dangerous pathogens. Controlling wild animals and their fleas/ticks around places where people live, work and play is important in preventing human diseases.
