This is a piece of clothing the seams of which contained lice eggs from the body louse Pediculus humanus var. corporis.
The practice of hygienically sound living conditions will normally preclude the occurrence of body lice infestation, for hot water exposure, i.e. >53.5°C, for more than 5 minutes will kill these insect parasites.
