This adult flour moth (family Pyralidae) was photographed during a disease-carrier insect study around migrant labor camps.

The larvae of this species feed on foods such as cracked grain, coarser grades of flour like whole-wheat or graham flour, dried fruits, shelled nuts and others. Due to its diet, it often proves to be an agricultural nuisance when storing these products.
