This patient displayed a morbilliform rash (resembling measles) resulting from Toxic Shock Syndrome, 3-5 day after onset.



The bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, which commonly colonizes the skin and mucous membranes in humans, can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), and has been associated with use of tampons, and intravaginal contraceptive devices in women.
