This embryonated egg is indistinguishable between the Ancylostoma duodenale or Necator americanus hookworm.



Diagnostic characteristics of a hookworm egg are its thin shell, oval or ellipsoidal shape, and 57µm-76µm x 35µm-47µm in size. If ingested, hookworm can develop cause intestinal problems such as mild diarrhea or cramps.
