This photomicrograph reveals the conidiophores with conidia of the fungus Cladosporium werneckii from a slide culture.
Cladosporium werneckii is pathogenic in humans, and is known to cause the fungal infection known as “tinea nigra”, which affects the superficial layers of the skin, especially the palms of the hands, and soles of the feet.
