
This is probably the last "variolation" dosage from India during the early 1970s.

An early method of controlling smallpox was “variolation”, which is inoculation using live smallpox virus taken from active smallpox lesions. Thereby, producing a mild form of the disease, protecting the individual from future outbreaks.
